In 2019, Matt Alexander led the first 'Good Vibe Caravan' from San Diego, California to a Vanlife meetup outside of Jackson, Wyoming.
The idea was simple: bring people together and lead them on an epic road trip.
Everyone had a great time, it cost nothing, and we all became great friends. This trip led to another caravan, and another, and another.
Inspired by the good vibes, skill-sharing, and spontaneous community that takes place when nomads get together, Chris, Laurén, Sam, Ola, Rachel, and others joined Matt and began to collaborate on bringing the Collective into reality.
In 2019 and early 2020, the Good Vibe Collective participated in hosting and producing dozens of digital and in-person events, traveled thousands of caravan-miles, and set up planned and spontaneous nomadic communities across the US.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Good Vibe Collective pivoted to offer weekly digital events and online activities like mental health check-ins, interstate open mics, and happy hours for our fellow nomads while they sheltered in place.
For 2021, we are cautiously beginning to host in-person gatherings and caravans again. We encourage everyone to take the pandemic seriously, talk with your healthcare professional, get vaccinated if you're able, and respect each other's boundaries while we all work to stop this pandemic for good.
